It is made up of the ‘neuro’ part of fields like:
Anatomy, giving rise to Neuroanatomy – study of the structure of the nervous system
Physiology, giving rise to Neurophysiology – study of the function of the nervous system
Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence giving rise to the fields of Neural Networks - using artifical neural networks, modelled on biological neural networks, to process data

After living in Texas for 16 years, my parents recently moved to the college town of Auburn, Alabama. I’ve managed to visit twice, both times in shock of the stark difference between the high energy of Texas cities and the laid back slumber of Auburn. Nestled away in a beautiful park of wildly growing trees lies this structure. It may be a house or perhaps a storage facility, but whatever it is, it has not been touched in ages. The door is padlocked and holds years of cobwebs and dust. Its quaintness and mystery is compelling, and makes me wonder how much I’ve been sheltered by the grey concrete of a big city.
